We are pleased to provide you this update on EMAT/EVI. We will continue to provide updates regarding instructional materials as information becomes available. Please share the following announcement with districts and appropriate staff. If there are questions, please send them to textbooks at tea.state.tx.us.
EMAT/EVI OPENS ON THURSDAY MAY 12, 2005
The Texas Education Agency will open the online Educational Materials and Textbooks (EMAT) and Educational Materials for the Visually Impaired (EVI) computer systems on Thursday, May 12, 2005, for receipt of Annual requisitions for instructional materials adopted in November 2003 by the State Board of Education under Proclamation 2001, as well as other textbooks adopted before 2003. This includes ESL K-2, ESL 6-8, Technology Applications, Agricultural Science and Technology Education, Business Education, Health Science Technology Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Technology Education, Marketing Education, Trade and Industrial Education and Career Orientation. All public school districts, charter schools and juvenile justice alternative educational programs (JJAEPs) designated by the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission should submit their Annual requisitions as soon as possible.
The Agency does not have definitive information about whether instructional materials adopted in November 2004 under Proclamation 2002 will be funded. As soon as that information becomes available, it will be shared with school districts, charter schools and designated JJAEPs.
Detailed instructions for ordering the available materials are posted on the Textbook Administration Division web page Announcements link at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/textbooks/announcements/.
Thanks,
Anita
