The Louisiana Department of Education will be offering additional
opportunities for students displaced to Texas because of Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita to take the Graduation Exit Examination (GEE) online.
To be eligible, students must be planning to graduate in 2005-06 or
2006-2007 and still need to retake all or part of the GEE.



The additional opportunities to register and test online during the
2005-06 school year are as follows:



            Registration:   March 6-24, 2006

            Testing:          March 27-31, 2006



            Registration:   April 24-May 12, 2006

            Testing:          May 15-19, 2006



School counselors will need to pre-register their school as a site at
which students can take the GEE online.  (See item #1 below.)  After a
school is a registered site, counselors may register students using the
link in item #2 below.  Note that the registration process begins on
March 6, 2006, for the March 27-31, 2006, test administration.

If students registered for the January 2005 online GEE administration,
it is not necessary for them to register again for subsequent
administrations.
