Librarians,

I'm proud to report to you that as a region,
we've made progress in weeding our collections this year and getting our
collection ages closer to the Library Standards "Acceptable"
goal of 15 years old or better.

Here are last year's regional
stats:

    Average Collection Age:  1985
Average Age of 500s section:  1986
Average Age of 600s section:  1988

And here are THIS year's regional stats:

    Average Collection Age:  1988
Average Age of 500s section:  1990
Average Age of 600s section:  1990

As a region, we've improved our overall collection ages by 3
years.

We've improved our 500s section ages by
4 years.

And we've improved our 600s section
ages by 2 years.

Congratulations!.  Your
hard work has paid off!
Be sure to look at your individual
campus report as compared to the regional averages.
Is your report in
better shape?  Or worse?

Jeanne Martinez will
be helping us on June 2nd make some plans to make even more improvements
to our collections.  I hope to see many of you registered for this
important workshop.
