Librarians,
I received the following information
about available grants earlier this month.
I do not know
anything about any of these grants personally. If you have questions
about them, you'll need to contact Monica Zatopek at the state
library. Her contact information is listed at the bottom of the
email below.
If you need help applying for a grant, though, let
me know.

Texas Book Festival Library Grants
Deadline: January 12,
2007
The Texas Book Festival grants are now available on
the Texas Book Festival website (http://www.texasbookfestival.org/library_grants/application.html).
Three different grants are being offered again this year:
1. The Literacy Initiative Grants will fund
programs that support the public library role for community reading and
learning.
2. The 21st Century Literacy
Technology Grants are intended to assist with the purchase of
technology-related services or products.
3. And the
old favorite, the Book Funding grant helps libraries add
books to their collections.
Be sure to read the
guidelines completely. A library may apply for more than one grant. Please
note that the grants are due in early January.
If you have
questions concerning the grants, please feel free to contact Myra
Arredondo Zatopek (mzatopek at tsl.state.tx.us or 800.252.9386) at Texas
State Library or Texas Library Association (800.580.2852).
